Applied Hearing Solutions became Phoenix's first Auracast-enabled clinic, allowing compatible hearing aids from ReSound, Oticon, and Starkey to stream broadcast audio from public venues directly.

At Applied Hearing Solutions, we have always looked for ways to give our patients access to the most current hearing technology available. That commitment has led us to become Phoenix's first audiology clinic to install Auracast — a next-generation Bluetooth audio broadcasting technology that is widely expected to redefine how people with hearing loss connect to the world around them.
Auracast is a new Bluetooth broadcast audio standard that allows a single audio source — a television, a public address system, a smartphone, or a laptop — to stream sound simultaneously to an unlimited number of nearby compatible receivers. Those receivers can include hearing aids, cochlear implants, earbuds, or any other Auracast-enabled audio device.
Think of it like a personal audio feed from any public space. Rather than straining to hear a TV across a waiting room or missing announcements at an airport, an Auracast-enabled hearing aid picks up the broadcast directly and delivers it clearly into your ears. No background noise competing with the signal. No distance working against you. Just clean, direct audio streamed straight to your hearing aids.
This technology is already being adopted in theaters, places of worship, airports, restaurants, and arenas. As more public spaces install Auracast transmitters, the practical benefits for people with hearing loss will continue to grow.
We wanted our patients to experience this technology from the moment they walk through our door. We have installed Auracast broadcasting in our clinic so that patients with compatible hearing aids can stream audio directly from our waiting room television and educational content — without asking anyone to turn up the volume, without straining across the room, and without missing a word.
For many patients, this will be their first time experiencing Auracast firsthand. That matters to us. Hearing about a technology is one thing. Sitting in a waiting room and actually using it is something else entirely.
Several of the leading hearing aid manufacturers have now released devices with Auracast capability, and we carry them here at Applied Hearing Solutions.
The ReSound Vivia and ReSound Savi both use Bluetooth LE Audio 5.2 and are Auracast-equipped. Notably, ReSound devices are among the only hearing aids currently fully activated to receive Auracast broadcasts — meaning no future firmware update is required to access the feature. The ReSound Smart 3D app also includes what is reported to be the world's first Auracast Assistant for hearing aids, allowing patients to connect to an Auracast stream with a single tap, even from a smartphone that doesn't natively support LE Audio.
The Oticon Zeal also supports Auracast right now, with no pending firmware update needed. Built on the same Sirius chip platform as the Oticon Intent, Zeal pairs Auracast connectivity with Oticon's BrainHearing technology and a near-invisible design — making it a strong option for patients who want both discretion and full connectivity.
The Starkey Omega AI includes Bluetooth LE Audio with Auracast readiness, alongside its own suite of AI-powered features including Edge Mode+ and the Gen AI Smart Assistant built into the My Starkey app.
Auracast has the potential to become a universal standard for audio accessibility in public life. The same way that ramps and automatic doors changed physical access, Auracast has the potential to change how people with hearing loss move through the world — in a way that is seamless and doesn't require drawing attention to themselves.
Public venues installing Auracast transmitters won't need to manage individual Bluetooth pairings or outdated loop systems. And users won't need to ask for accommodations. They simply connect, and hear.
We believe being at the front of this shift matters — not just as a technology offering, but as part of our broader commitment to audiologic best practices and patient-centered care. Getting the most out of any hearing aid, Auracast-enabled or not, still depends on a precise fitting. That's why every hearing aid we fit includes Real Ear Measurements, so that your prescription is verified and never guessed at.
If you are curious about Auracast-compatible hearing aids or want to experience the technology in person, we invite you to come in. Our team of Doctors of Audiology will take the time to evaluate your hearing, walk you through your options, and make sure whatever you choose is fitted and verified to your specific needs. Call us at 602-877-0000 or visit us at 4045 E Union Hills Dr, Suite D128, Phoenix, AZ 85050. We are open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
