Phonak EON

Phonak EON is a smaller, lighter rechargeable hearing aid that pairs Phonak's proven speech-in-noise clarity with upgraded automatic processing, stronger wind-noise control, and native Auracast streaming.

Phonak EON
Specifications

The Phonak EON is here, and it is available at both our main clinic in Phoenix and our Scottsdale office. EON is the third generation of Phonak's Audéo Sphere platform, and it builds directly on the speech-in-noise performance that made the previous Sphere hearing aids so effective. What is new this time is the package around that performance: a noticeably smaller and lighter body, faster and more intelligent automatic processing, stronger wind-noise management, and native Auracast support for streaming in public places.

EON is a rechargeable receiver-in-canal hearing aid, meaning it sits behind the ear with a thin wire carrying sound into the ear canal. Phonak designed the platform around three goals that map closely to what patients actually ask us for: clearer conversations in difficult settings, dependable connection to their devices, and a design that quietly takes care of itself. It is built to fit hearing losses ranging from mild all the way through profound.

Clearer Speech in Noise With Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0

Understanding speech in a noisy room is the hardest listening task for most people with hearing loss, and it is where Phonak focused most. EON runs Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0, which uses dedicated AI processing to separate the speech you want from the background noise around it, strengthen that signal, and blend it back in so conversation stays clear. Powering it is Phonak's new Hypersonic chip, efficient enough to carry the heavy AI workload and still support a full day of battery life.

In Phonak's testing, this delivered up to 50% better speech understanding in noise compared with advanced directional microphone technology, up to 37% less listening effort (the mental energy it takes to follow a conversation), and left wearers up to two times more likely to understand speech coming from any direction. This speech-clarity technology is now available across three performance levels rather than only the top two, which makes it accessible at more price points.

A Smaller, Lighter Design That Adjusts on Its Own

EON is 25% smaller and 20% lighter than the previous Sphere generation, while keeping the comfortable, familiar receiver-in-canal shape. For patients who liked the earlier Sphere performance but wanted something more discreet on the ear, it is a meaningful upgrade, and it comes in eight color options to match hair or skin tone.

It is also built so you do not have to reach for buttons or an app every time you change rooms. The automatic system, AutoSense OS AI 8.0, works with the APD 4.0 fitting formula to recognize your surroundings and adjust for you. Compared with the previous generation, it reacts faster when your environment changes suddenly, for example stepping from a quiet hallway into a busy restaurant, holding clarity more reliably and keeping Spheric Speech Clarity engaged in more situations.

Wind Control, All-Day Battery, and Connectivity

For time spent outdoors, WindBlock 2.0 reduces the turbulence wind creates across the microphones while still letting speech through. Phonak reports up to 50 dB of wind-noise reduction with up to 30 dB of the signal-to-noise benefit preserved, and more than 90% of participants in their testing preferred it for how natural it sounded. On battery, EON gives you more than a full day, up to approximately 22 hours even with heavy streaming and time in noise, and it recharges fully in approximately 2.5 hours, with an optional portable charging case for topping up on the go.

For connectivity, EON's Era chip supports broad Bluetooth, hands-free calls and video with two-way audio, and pairing with phones, computers, tablets, and televisions through the myPhonak app. It also includes RogerDirect for compatible Phonak remote microphones and native Auracast, which streams audio straight to your hearing aids in equipped public venues such as airports, theaters, and houses of worship.

Choosing the Right Phonak EON for You

The EON platform fits mild through profound hearing loss and comes in a few forms to match your needs. The Phonak Audéo Sphere EON carries the full Spheric Speech Clarity hardware for the strongest performance in noise, while the Phonak Audéo R EON is a rechargeable option that can pair with the Phonak CROS R EON, a companion device for people who have little or no usable hearing in one ear.

EON tends to be an especially good fit for people who:

  • Struggle to follow conversations in restaurants and other noisy places
  • Attend meetings, gatherings, or social events
  • Spend meaningful time outdoors
  • Stream calls and media throughout the day
  • Want a smaller Sphere hearing aid with native Auracast capability

The best way to know whether it is right for you is a conversation with one of our audiologists.

Fit by Our Audiologists, Following Best Practices

A hearing aid this capable only performs at its best when it is programmed correctly, and that is where our clinical process matters most. At Applied Hearing Solutions, every fitting follows comprehensive audiology Best Practices, including Real Ear Measurements. This verification step places a small probe microphone in your ear canal to confirm the hearing aids are delivering your exact prescription at the eardrum, rather than relying on the manufacturer's software estimate. It is one of the most reliable predictors of success with hearing aids, and it is standard at every fitting we perform.
