Motion sensors

Special acoustic-motion sensors allow Styletto X to refine your hearing experience so that you can hear better in any situation, whether you're going for a socially distanced walk with your friend or checking in for your flight at a noisy airport.

A dedicated mask setting

When the speaker is wearing a mask, the listener's ability to comprehend their words is reduced by 30%. That's why Signia added a 'mask mode' to their smartphone app. Compatible with all Signia Xperience hearing aids fitted with Bluetooth (such as the Styletto X), this unique feature helps wearers of hearing aids to understand better what people are wearing face masks are saying.

Bluetooth Connectivity

You no longer have to compromise performance for style, as the Styletto X allows you to stream content directly from an iPhone into your hearing aid, whether it is a phone call, podcasts, or one of my hearing aid videos. With these Bluetooth features, you can also make remote control changes, such as volume or program adjustments. It is, however, not compatible with Android devices yet. You can use an Android smartphone with these devices, but you won't get any direct streaming.

Qi Rechargeability

The Styletto X is one of the first hearing aids to use Qi recharging technology, allowing you to merely place the charger on a charging pad rather than plugging it into the mains. The Styletto X also comes with a sleek charging case that houses three extra charges while on the move. A three-hour charge gives you about 19 hours of battery life.

Own Voice Processing (OVP)

Many people out there don't like the sound of their voices while wearing hearing aids. This is triggered by the occlusion effect, which is the sound of your voice you hear when something is sealing your ears up (like a hearing aid). Signia's Own Voice Processing decreases the amount of amplification it provides to your voice compared to the voice of someone else. This reduces the occlusion effect and makes for a more natural hearing experience.

Telecare capabilities

As the world continues to deal with the effects of COVID-19, any service that a hearing professional can do remotely should be encouraged. The Styletto X hearing aids are also equipped for Telecare, which ensures that while you're in the comfort of your own home, you can connect to your hearing provider and request adjustments to your hearing aid settings. The hearing care specialist then sends those updates to the hearing aid from your phone. So if there are minor tweaks and changes that you need to get made on your hearing aids, there's no need to see your hearing care specialist in person.

Things to consider with the Signia Styletto

The Styletto X is a formidable hearing aid for those who value style and the latest features. However, be sure to take note of the following.

• Lower battery life than most equivalent hearing aids: The battery life for the Styletto X is 19 hours, but if you spend much time streaming into these hearing aids from your smartphone, the amount of battery life you get per charge will decrease. If you're someone who streams a lot into those hearing aids, you're going to have to take this charger case with you and potentially lose hearing aid time as it charges.
• No push button: Because there is no push-button, you can't turn these hearing aids off until they go into the charge.
• No telecoil: A telecoil might not seem like a huge issue, but it is if you're a sort of person unable to hear in a large public space, a telecoil is almost essential.

I understand why Signia decided to compromise with the Styletto X. - there is a finite amount of space inside a slim-RIC hearing aid. If Signia were to install a larger lithium battery, a push button, or a telecoil inside these hearing aids, the look would change entirely.

Overall, for someone who needs to listen better and make a fashion statement simultaneously, the Styletto X hearing aid is the ideal hearing aid.
