What is tinnitus?

Tinnitus is a ringing or buzzing sound in your ears or head. Individuals who have tinnitus often have hearing loss. The most common theory is that tinnitus is caused by your brains response to a decrease in auditory input related to your hearing loss. If you have tinnitus you should have your hearing evaluated by an audiologist who may be able to provide treatment as well.
